Anime movie [i]Sky: Two Lights – Part One[/i] gets Japanese theatrical version with Kaji Yuuki as narrator

For the Japanese theatrical version of the animated film „Sky: Two Lights – Part One,“ the renowned voice actor Kaji Yuuki has been secured as the narrator. Kaji, who has already supported the associated video game „Sky: Children of the Light“ as an official ambassador, lends his voice to the film version in select narrative passages.

A newly released trailer features the first excerpts with Kaji’s narration, accompanied by the ending theme song by Kotringo. The film tells the origin story of the internationally successful game „Sky: Children of the Light,“ which deliberately avoids spoken dialogue. The decision to add a narrator stemmed from a long-held wish of the development team led by Jenova Chen, co-founder of thatgamecompany.

Kaji Yuuki shared in a statement his initial concerns about whether spoken words would fit the atmosphere of the otherwise wordless work. However, the studio’s execution convinced him—the world of „Sky“ remains authentic, and the core idea untouched.

The theatrical release of „Sky: Two Lights – Part One“ is scheduled for August 8, exclusively in Japanese cinemas. Additional screening locations will be announced at a later date. Accompanying the announcement, a new movie poster—available only in Japan—was unveiled, featuring a child with a manatee and bearing the slogan „Hope carried to the end of the world.“
