Anime Movie "Maboroshi" Reveals Full Trailer, Theme Song And Expanded Cast

The new anime film "Maboroshi" by Mari Okada and MAPPA recently released its full trailer. Alongside the trailer, the title song "Shin-on" (Heartbeat) by Miyuki Nakajima was unveiled, and a list of additional cast members was confirmed, supplementing an earlier announcement through a visual poster.



The expanded list of cast members and their respective roles are as follows:

Taku Yashiro will take on the role of Daisuke Sasakura.

Tasuku Hatanaka will play Atsushi Nitta.

Daiki Kobayashi will portray Yasunari Semba.

Ayaka Saito will voice Yūko Sonobe.

Maki Kawase will bring Hina Hara to life.

Yukiyo Fujii will voice Reina Yasumi.

Setsuji Satoh will play the role of Mamoru Sagami.

The main characters of the film are Masamune Kikuiri, played by Junya Enoki; Masamune's classmate Atsumi Sagami, brought to life by Reina Ueda; and the enigmatic Itsumi, portrayed by Misaki Kuno.

The story of "Maboroshi" revolves around Masamune, a third-year middle school student. His life unfolds in a town where time seems to have stood still after an explosion at a local steelworks. The disaster has caused all escape routes from the town to be blocked. As a result, the townspeople lead a monotonous life, denied any form of change, in the hope of one day returning to normalcy.

One day, Atsumi leads Masamune to the factory's fifth blast furnace, where they encounter a girl who behaves wildly and cannot speak. The meeting between Masamune and these two girls disrupts the balance of the world and sets off a chain of events that begin to destroy the world.
