Regarding the upcoming animated series "Food Court de, Mata Ashita" (English: "See You Tomorrow at the Food Court"), which is based on the graphic novel by Shinichirō Narie, new details about the production have been announced. A second main promotional video provides further insights into the plot and conveys a better impression of the series' atmosphere. The ending song titled "Tonari Awase" ("Side by Side") is sung by the two main characters Wada and Yamamoto, voiced by Hiyori Miyazaki and Yoshino Aoyama. Excerpts of the song can already be heard in the new promotional video, while the full digital version will be released on July 8.
At the heart of the series is the special friendship between two schoolgirls who could hardly be more different. Wada appears reserved and quiet, whereas Yamamoto is often misunderstood due to her striking appearance. Despite these contrasts, the two regularly meet after school in the food court of a shopping mall, which becomes the starting point for many humorous and touching experiences.
The creative team behind the series consists of director Kazuomi Koga and screenwriter Tōki Hanada. The animation is handled by Studio Atelier Pontdarc. The series remains faithful to the original material from Shueisha and focuses on the everyday yet special moments in the lives of the two schoolgirls.
