The manga series "Food Court de, Mata Ashita." ("See You Tomorrow at the Food Court") by Shinichirō Nariie is receiving an anime adaptation. A first preview clip has been released, offering glimpses of the main characters and their voice actors.
The story centers on two high school girls who couldn't be more different: Wada, voiced by Hiyori Miyazaki, appears reserved and elegant on the outside but is actually emotional and academically average. Her classmate Yamamoto, played by Yoshino Aoyama, comes across as strikingly flashy but has surprisingly serious sides and takes responsible care of her younger brother. Over the course of the story, the two regularly meet at a shopping mall and gradually start talking.
The voice actresses expressed their delight about their roles. Miyazaki shared that she already took special joy in the character during the casting phase and is thrilled about being chosen. Aoyama describes her character as outwardly eccentric but inwardly strong-willed, particularly highlighting the unusual chemistry between the two protagonists.
The animation project is produced by Studio Atelier Pontdarc ("Isekai Ojisan"). Direction is handled by Kazuomi Koga ("Kanojo, Okarishimasu"), scriptwriting by Jukki Hanada ("Hibike! Euphonium"), and character design by Kyūta Sakai ("Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu").
To celebrate the anime's announcement, a giveaway is currently being held on the official social media accounts, offering signed manga volumes. The series is set to premiere in 2025.
