Just before the premiere of the anime adaptation of Tomato Soup's manga "Tenmaku no Jadugar" (A Witch's Life in Mongol), the team has released a new trailer and the final version of the main visual. The clip shows the protagonist Sitara bravely and cunningly standing against the Mongol Empire, accompanied by the powerful animation of Studio Science SARU. At the same time, it was announced that the ending sequence will be handled by the band Queen Bee with the song "Star" (Japanese: "Hoshi"), written specifically for the series.

Queen Bee singer Avu-chan expressed her excitement: "A feeling of revenge—in the turbulent time of the story, I sensed a star in the emotions of the protagonist, who walks her own path alone. I hope the song touches the viewers." Manga artist Tomato Soup was also deeply moved: "It sounds like the story of these women is being told in a yurt under a starry sky. 'Don't forget'—this song is sad yet strong."

The original work, which has been serialized in Akita Shoten's online magazine Souffle since 2021, has received numerous awards: 1st place in the women's category of "Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023," two consecutive years of nominations for the Manga Taisho, and the Grand Prize of the 55th Japan Cartoonists Association Awards in the comic category. The adaptation is handled by Science SARU, the studio behind "Dandadan," "The Heike Story," and "Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!" The overall direction is led by Naoko Yamada ("A Silent Voice," "K-On!"), with direction by Abel Gongora. The opening theme is contributed by SEKAI NO OWARI with the title "Stella."

The extensive cast includes Akira Sekine as Sitara, Ami Koshimizu as Töregene, Houko Kuwashima as Fatima, Jun Saito as Muhammad, Hiroshi Shimono as Ögedei, Ryota Suzuki as Tolui, Miyu Irino as Shira, Daisuke Namikawa as Chagatai, and Kenji Nojima as Jochi. A special addition is the Mongolian sumo wrestlers Takasugo and Tamashoho, who voice Genghis Khan and a Mongolian soldier, respectively, in guest roles.

The first broadcast will take place on July 4, 2026, at 11:00 PM (JST) on the nationwide TV Asahi network (IMAnimation slot) and on BS Asahi; the first episode will be aired as a two-part 60-minute special. Starting July 5, episodes will be available on numerous streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, ABEMA, U-NEXT, and others. Internationally, the anime already premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026, where it ran in the official competition of the TV Films section. In the US, the series will be shown on July 3 at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles.

Queen Bee's single "Star" will be released digitally on July 5 and as a CD on August 5 in two limited editions, including a version with anime artwork. The series will air weekly on Saturdays at 11:30 PM (JST) starting July 4.
