The TV anime adaptation of “The World’s Strongest Rearguard: Labyrinth Country’s Novice Seeker” (Japanese original title: “Sekai Saikyō no Kōei: Meikyūkoku no Shinjin Tansakusha”) has received a concrete start date. As announced on the official website, the series will air on Japanese television starting July 5, 2026. To coincide with this, a new key visual has been released, depicting the main characters in battle.

The work is an isekai story based on the light novel series of the same name by author Tōwa. The plot revolves around the protagonist Arihito, who is reborn in the “Labyrinth Nation.” There, he receives the rare support class “Rearguard,” which can provide allies not only with offensive and defensive boosts but also healing. The new visual shows Arihito and his predominantly female companions forming a group and confronting an enemy.

The anime production is directed by Yūji Yanase at Studio Maho Film. The series composition is handled by Deko Akao, while Eriko Yanagimoto is in charge of character design.

The main roles in the Japanese original are prominently cast: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka voices the hero Arihito, and Aoi Koga lends her voice to Theresia. Other voice actors include Sakura Nakamura, Yui Ishikawa, Saori Hayami, Kaede Hondo, Kanon Takao, and Yuka Aisaka.

The broadcast will begin on July 5, 2026, at 10:00 PM JST on TOKYO MX, followed later in the evening on Sun TV. BS11 will follow the next day.
