In a few days, on October 20th, Blue Dragon will start airing on RTL 2. Anime Virtual will release the anime on DVD. The first DVD volume has already been announced for November 24th.
The anime was produced by Studio Pierrot in 2007 and premiered in Japan alongside the launch of the Xbox 360 RPG of the same name.
RTL 2 will broadcast Blue Dragon in a slightly edited version. Anime Virtual, however, will release the series in two versions: one uncut and one in the German TV edit. Anime Virtual will publish the uncut version across five double-DVD thinpacks. The edited version will initially only be available as a single DVD containing the first three episodes. Both DVD versions, however, will only include the German dub.
In Germany, only the first season with 51 episodes will be released for now. In Japan, the second season has been airing since April 2008.
