As part of the annual anime convention "AnimeJapan," the ranking of the "Most Wanted Anime Adaptations 2025" was announced today. Topping the list is "Nue no Onmyōji" by author Kōta Kawae.

"Nue no Onmyōji" / "The Nue Exorcist" tells the story of a young boy named Kiriya, who has been able to perceive supernatural beings since childhood. After the mysterious figure Rita asks him to join forces to fight these creatures, the story evolves into a contemporary tale of exorcism, friendship, and hidden powers. The series is currently serialized in the magazine "Weekly Shōnen Jump" (Shueisha) and has eight volumes so far.

Author Kōta Kawae thanked the fans for their tremendous support, which secured his series the top spot. Second place went to Makoto Yoshimoto's series "Usotsuki! Gokuō-kun," which concluded three years ago but has recently gained a surge in popularity. The romantic series "Hotaru no Yomeiri" by Oreko Tachibana took third place.
