This includes the creative group Magica Quartet, screenwriter Gen Urobuchi, chief director Akiyuki Simbo, and others. Yuki Kajiura will once again handle the film’s music, while SHAFT is in charge of the animation.

The original Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime series first aired in January 2011. Compilation films followed in October 2012, and another film premiered in October 2013. The franchise has also expanded into mobile games, with "Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story" adapted into a TV anime series, whose third season concluded in April 2022.

The story follows Madoka Kaname, an eighth-grader who undergoes a transformative experience that could alter her destiny, drawing her into a world of magical witch girls. With this new installment, the series is poised to explore fresh layers of its intricate narrative.
