The production of a second season of the sports anime Aoashi has been officially confirmed. Based on the football manga by Yūgo Kobayashi, the studio TMS Entertainment will handle the animation work for the new season. A specially designed illustration was also released for the announcement, showing the protagonist Ashito Aoi in his game outfit tying his football shoes.

The plot of the manga, which is published in the magazine Weekly Big Comic Spirits (Shogakukan), follows the talented youth player Ashito. He dreams of gaining professional experience in the youth program of the J-League, the so-called J-Youth. It was recently announced that the series will soon reach its finale.

The first anime adaptation from 2022, produced by Studio Production I.G., gained international attention. The sequel now relies on a new creative implementation by TMS Entertainment. An exact broadcast date has not yet been announced.
