Arknights: Perish in Frost Anime Season Reveals Teasers and Confirms Returning Staff and Cast Members

The official website for the upcoming Arknights: Perish in Frost anime season has released a teaser promotional video and visuals. The video confirms the return of staff and cast members from the previous season, Arknights: Prelude to Dawn.



In the second anime season, the main voice actors are returning, including Ayahi Takagaki (Frostnova), Shizuka Ishigami (Ch'en), Yuki Kaida (Doctor), and Tomoya Kurosawa (Amiya). The Arknights: Prelude to Dawn season premiered on TV Tokyo, with Crunchyroll streaming the anime simultaneously with its Japanese release.

Yuki Watanabe directed Arknights: Prelude to Dawn at Yostar Pictures, with Masataka Nishikawa serving as assistant director. Both had previously worked on the anime short film for the smartphone game's first anniversary, "Holy Knight Light," as well as the game's numerous animated promotional videos. Aya Takafuji, the lead animator for Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia and SSSS.Gridman, adapted the character designs for the animation.

The Chinese developers Studio Montagne and Hypergryph released the Arknights game in May 2019 in China, followed by a global release by Yostar in January 2020. The game inspired several animated promotional videos and a nine-minute animated short film, "Holy Knight Light," in December 2021 to celebrate the game's first anniversary.

Arknights is set in a fantasy world called Terra, blending modern science fiction elements with the challenges of catastrophes that produce the rare mineral Originium. The game's story revolves around the lives of Oripathy-infected individuals, with the island of Rhodes offering support and a sense of belonging to those who are often shunned. The organization frequently clashes with the Reunion movement, a terrorist group targeting governments that oppress the infected.
