“Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin” Anime Premiere and Theme Song Information Announced

The TV anime adaptation of "Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin" will begin airing on July 6. Along with this announcement, the main promotional video and details about the theme song have been revealed.

"Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin" is based on the action RPG of the same name in a Japanese style. The anime is directed by Masayuki Yoshihara, with animation produced by P.A.WORKS. The story takes place on the remote island of Hinoe, which is plagued by demons, and follows the lazy harvest goddess Sakuna, who was banished from the city of the gods, along with humans who wandered into the divine realm. The trailer showcases the challenges and developments awaiting Sakuna and her companions.

The voice actors from the game return for the anime: Naomi Ozora as Sakuna, Takashi Narumi as Tama, and Rika Kinugawa as Kokoroa-hime, joined by Ryuta Yano, Hikari Kubota, Soma Maeda, Aoi Koga, Rika Momokawa, Miwa Kohinata, Tatsuki Kagami, and Yuuji Kameyama.

The opening theme is "Harebare!" by Ikimonogakari, and the ending theme is "ORIGAMI" by Little Glee Monster. Excerpts from both songs can be heard in the promotional video.
