Ascendance of a Bookworm: New adaptation announces itself

For the continuation of the anime series Honzuki no Gekokujō: Ryōshu no Yōjo (English: Ascendance of a Bookworm: The Adopted Daughter of a Noble), first insights are now available. A provisional key visual and a presentation video were revealed during the international event Anime Expo 2025.

The visual materials showcase protagonist Rosine in her new role as the adopted daughter of a noble family. The presentation was conducted by representatives of the animation studio WIT STUDIO (known for works such as Attack on Titan), the publisher TO BOOKS, and the production management. The technical implementation was emphasized, particularly the design clarity and dynamic action sequences.

The story follows the book-loving Rosine, who was reborn in a fantastical world as the daughter of a soldier. In this new adaptation, her rise into the nobility is explored: After discovering her magical abilities, she decides to leave her commoner family and begin a new life as the adopted daughter of a feudal lord.

The production is based on the novel series by Miya Kazuki. The previous anime adaptations were released in the years 2019, 2020, and 2022. The voice cast includes Yuka Iguchi as Rosine and Show Hayami as Ferdinand.
