“Sengoku Youko: Senma Konton-hen” opens on July 17th

The anime adaptation of Satoshi Mizukami's "Sengoku Youko: Senma Konton-hen" will air on July 17. Along with this announcement, the key visual, character promo videos, and additional cast members were revealed.

The newly announced voice actors include Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Mudo, the rival of the protagonist Chiya, Wataru Hatano as Ashikaga Yoshiteru, an important figure, and Shizuka Ito as Hana, the great deity of the capital. Character promo videos focusing on the main characters Chiya, Tsukiko, and Nau have also been released.

The opening theme, "KATAWARA," is a rock song by STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION, while the ending theme, "Yoru no Zui," is sung by Hiroki Nanami, who also voices Chiya in the anime. Both artists have shared comments about their involvement.

"Sengoku Youko" is a battle-action story about Tama, a fox spirit who loves humans, and her brother Jin, a sage who hates humans, as they fight against darkness using their "spirit transformation" power. The first part of the TV anime, "Yonaoshi Kyoudai-hen," aired in January. "Senma Konton-hen" is the second part of the series.
