The popular SMARTOON The Beginning After the End, originally created by TurtleMe, is being adapted into a TV anime and will air in 2025. Alongside this announcement, a teaser image, teaser video, and details about the main cast have been released.
The story follows King Grey, once the most powerful monarch, who is reborn as a helpless infant named Arthur in a world filled with magic. Despite initial struggles, Arthur grows through the love and support of his new family and friends, embarking on a fantasy adventure full of challenges. The series began serialization on the Tapas platform in 2018 and was released in Japan by Piccoma in 2020.
The teaser image shows Arthur gazing over a vast landscape, with defeated soldiers lying around him. His shadow appears larger than his actual form, symbolizing his inner strength and potential. The teaser video depicts the transformation from the ruthless King Grey to the innocent child Arthur and concludes with the mysterious appearance of a masked boy. Although the full cast has not yet been announced, some character voices can be heard in the teaser.
The anime is directed by Keitaro Motonaga and produced by Studio A-CAT. TurtleMe, the original author, will also be involved in the project as a story supervisor.
