The anime adaptation of "The Fable," based on the original work by Katsuhisa Minami, has revealed its key visual alongside the announcement of its voice cast. "The Fable" will air in two seasons starting in April and tells the story of a genius assassin named Fable, who begins living as an ordinary man under the name Akira Sato. The key visual shows Akira Sato with a parrot on his head, surrounded by characters such as his smiling sister Yoko Sato holding a glass, and Misaki Shimizu with a drawing of a lion symbolizing Akira.

Kazuyuki Okitsu plays the protagonist Akira, Miyuki Sawashiro his sister Yoko, and Kana Hanazawa the heroine Misaki. Supporting cast members include Akio Otsuka as Ebihara, the deputy leader of the Makuro group who looks after the Sato siblings, Kenjiro Tsuda as Ebihara's subordinate Kojima, Tetsuo Komura as the boss who raised Akira, and Jun Fukushima as Jackal Tomioka, a comedian whom Akira respects.

Okitsu expressed his excitement for the role and highlighted the complexity of an ordinary life compared to a flashy or reclusive existence. Directed by Ryosuke Takahashi and produced by Tezuka Productions, the anime follows Fable as he navigates the challenges of everyday life while hiding his true identity as a legendary assassin.
