“Tougen Anki” TV anime is scheduled to be released in 2025

The manga "Tougen Anki" is gearing up for its TV anime adaptation, set to release in 2025. This project marks the second phase of the "Tougen Anki" series following the stage play that was performed in February of this year. The anime adaptation will feature the main cast members Nozomi Urawa, Hiroshi Kamiya, and Koutarou Nishiyama.

"Tougen Anki" is based on the manga that has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion since 2020 and has sold over 3 million copies, including the latest 20 volumes. The story revolves around a new generation of dark heroes descended from the legendary Momotaro and depicts the conflict between Momotaro's descendants and those with demon blood.

The protagonist, Shiki Ichinose, voiced by Nozomi Urawa, becomes aware of his demonic heritage after a surprise attack by Momotaro. He then enrolls at Rasetsu Academy, a school dedicated to training demons. The anime's visuals and promotional video showcase Shiki against a backdrop of ruined buildings, emphasizing the turmoil and overwhelming nature of his demonic blood.
