The manga "Wandance" by Coffee is set to be adapted into a TV anime in 2025. The production will be handled by Madhouse and Cyclone Graphics. The anime will be choreographed by renowned dancer RIEHATA, known for her work with BTS and other artists.

"Wandance," a series from Monthly Afternoon (Kodansha), tells the story of Kaboku Kotani, a stuttering student who struggles to express himself, and his classmate Hikari Wanda, who immerses herself in dance without regard for others' opinions. The series follows their journey into the world of freestyle dance, where words become unnecessary. The manga has been published in ten languages and was honored at the You Should Read This Manga 2023 Awards in North America as a title deserving of an anime adaptation. The latest 13th volume will be released on August 22, and the series graces the cover of the October issue of Monthly Afternoon, available on August 23.

To celebrate the anime adaptation, Coffee shared a congratulatory illustration featuring a dynamic shot of Kaboku and Wanda, highlighted by a yellow color scheme.

In a comment, Coffee pointed out the uniqueness of the manga, which, despite lacking sound and motion, allows readers to fill those gaps with their imagination—sometimes leading to a deeper experience than watching or listening in real life. They expressed hope that the anime adaptation would incorporate experimental and improvisational elements to create an unexpected and captivating visual experience.
