An animation adaptation of Takako Shimura's work "Awashima Hyakkei" has been put into production. A first preview film, a character depiction, and information about the cast are available.
The plot follows teenagers at the Awashima Music Theater School, where girls with dreams of the stage gather. The first published film clip shows the encounter between Wakana Tabata, who joins the school with the desire for a musical career, and her roommate Kinue Takehara.
The role of Wakana Tabata, an open-hearted student from Gunma Prefecture, is voiced by Nakabayashi Natsuka. The older schoolmate and dorm head Kinue Takehara is voiced by Daichi Yō. Both voice actresses expressed their thoughts on their participation in the project in statements.

The animation work is being handled by Studio Madhouse, while the direction is by Asaka Morio.
