Episode 12 of Ayaka serves as the season finale and begins with Yukito diving into the ley energy to rescue Jingi. Inside the ley energy, he encounters his father, Yanagi Makoto, who has been keeping the fire dragon in check. Yanagi Makoto explains that he sent Yukito away to weaken his connection to the fire dragon and prepare him to become a guardian deity of the island.

Yukito learns from his father that Jingi is clinging to an image left behind by Yanagi Makoto as a reference point within the ley energy. They set out to find him, and Yanagi Makoto teaches Yukito the concept of ley mastery, which allows him to navigate through the ley energy. Eventually, they find Jingi, who is still clinging fiercely to life and wishes to return to the island.

Meanwhile, a new wave of Ara-Mitama emerges on the island. Aka, Haruaki, and the others fend them off and discuss their concerns about Yukito's safety within the ley energy. They sense a connection to Yukito and Jingi and attempt to bring them back.

Yukito and Jingi are guided back to the island through this connection. Before leaving the ley energy, Yanagi Makoto tells Yukito to take care of his brothers and the island. Yukito and Jingi successfully return, much to the relief of their friends and family.

The episode ends with a montage showing the characters going about their daily lives. Yukito is wearing a school uniform, suggesting he has decided to attend school. He joins his friends, and they head to the entrance ceremony, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

The episode concludes the series by showing that life on the island of Ayaka, filled with various experiences, continues as usual.
