The episode begins with Yukito and his companion Jingi riding the Marine Liner, a train that travels between the islands. Yukito is amazed by the train and the urban environment of the first island, which stands in stark contrast to the more rural second island where he lives. Jingi explains that the train is powered by a diesel engine and stops running when the sea gets rough.

They arrive on the first island, which is bustling with buildings, pachinko parlors, and casinos. They meet an older man who suggests that Jingi show Yukito around the island. However, Jingi has his own plans for the first island, which include visiting a casino or pachinko parlor. Nevertheless, they promise the older man that they won’t leave the tourist area.

While exploring the first island, Yukito and Jingi get separated. Yukito encounters an Ara-Mitama, a type of spirit, and attempts to pacify it using his Ley Mastery, a form of magic. However, he is interrupted by a man named Aka, who uses a weapon to destroy the Ara-Mitama. Aka explains that he uses special bullets imbued with spells to eliminate Ara-Mitama, which differs from Yukito’s method of pacifying them.

Aka invites Yukito to join his company, Ayaka Security, which specializes in exterminating Ara-Mitama. Jingi eventually finds Yukito at Ayaka Security and explains to him that the company is essential for the safety of the First Island, where many tourists are unaware of the spiritual dangers. Later, a large Ara-Mitama appears, and Aka uses a forbidden form of Ley Mastery known as Black Magic to absorb the Ara-Mitama’s power and make it his own. Despite the risks, Aka is determined to grow stronger to prevent more people from dying.
