In Episode 4 of Ayaka, Yanagi Yukito visits the Third Island, which is less developed compared to the other islands and has a solemn atmosphere. He is accompanied by Jingi, who has a hangover from celebrating after a pachinko win. They are there to visit Haru-nii, and Jingi brings a bottle of sake as a gift from Momoko-san.

Upon their arrival, they are greeted by Fukuwake Chataro-kun and Amano Yako-kun, Haru-nii's students. They welcome Yukito to the island and ask him about his experiences so far. Yukito admits that he is still confused by the island's customs and the kindness of its inhabitants.

They arrive at the Kasen Shrine, which is dedicated to the opposing dragon gods of water and fire. The shrine was built to appease the dragons living on the Fourth Island, who cause havoc when they rampage. The object of worship is a volcanic rock resembling a lake, left behind after the water dragon quelled the fire dragon's rampage.

Yukito is introduced to Mr. Kurama, who explains the concept of ley energy to him. Ley energy is the life force flowing beneath the earth, and ley masters harness their powers by utilizing and controlling this energy. Kurama-san also reveals to him that Ibuki Aka-san, another ley master, has consumed Ara-Mitama and transformed himself into one, something no ley master should ever do.

Later, Chataro-kun and Yako-kun suggest that Yukito should learn ley mastery under their teacher Kurama-san instead of Jingi. They take him to their training grounds to test his abilities. Yukito surprises them by creating a massive tree, demonstrating his immense power. However, he is unable to control it, and the training grounds are nearly destroyed. Jingi intervenes and helps Yukito control his power, showing the importance of harmony and control when using ley energy.

After the training, Chataro-kun and Yako-kun express their admiration for Yukito's strength and suggest becoming friends. They also reiterate their proposal that he should study under Kurama-san. However, Yukito decides to continue learning under Jingi for the time being.

The episode ends with Yukito reflecting on his experiences and the unusual abilities he possesses. He questions his identity and whether he can do a good job as a ley master.
