“You Were Experienced, I Was Not: Our Dating Story” is scheduled to open in October

Kadokawa recently revealed new details about the TV adaptation of the light novel series "You Were Experienced, I Was Not: Our Dating Story" by Makiko Nagaoka. The promotional video not only confirms the series' premiere on October 6 but also introduces the title theme song "Aikotoba," performed by the rock group AliA.





The series features an ensemble led by Natsuki Hanae, who voices Ryūto Kashima. Other characters include Runa Shirakawa, portrayed by Saori Ōnishi, and Maria Kurose, Ryūto's classmate, voiced by Aoi Koga. Additional roles are filled by Ayaka Fukuhara as Nikoru Yamana, Tomori Kusunoki as Akari Tanikita, Fukushi Ochiai as Yūsuke Ichiji, Daisuke Sakaguchi as Ren Nishina, and Tomoaki Maeno as Shūgo Sekiya.

Hideaki Oba directs the series, collaborating with animation studio ENGI. Hiroko Fukuda handles the script, while Yōsuke Itō is responsible for the character designs, based on original illustrations by magako. Kei Haneoka composes the music, with Pony Canyon overseeing music production. The sound direction is led by Takeshi Takadera.

The narrative revolves around the lives of Ryūto Kashima and Runa Shirakawa, two high school students from contrasting social backgrounds. Ryūto is somewhat reserved, while Runa enjoys immense popularity. Their worlds collide when a lost game forces Ryūto to ask Runa out on a date. Despite their differing interests and social circles, the two discover common ground that allows their relationship to blossom.
