The official website for the TV anime "The Back Arrow" revealed that the anime will premiere in January 2021 and will run for two cours (a quarter of a year).

The project is helmed by director Goro Taniguchi (Code Geass) and writer Kazuki Nakashima (Promare, Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill). Studio VOLN is in charge of animating the series. Nakashima is not only responsible for the series composition but also writes the scripts for each episode himself. Toshiyuki Kanno adapts Shinobu Ohtaka's original character designs for animation and also serves as the chief animation director. Kōhei Tanaka composes the music.

About the story:

One day, a mysterious man named Back Arrow appears in the village of Essha on the edge of Ringarindo. Arrow has lost his memory but says he only knows one thing: "I came from beyond the wall." To restore his memory, Arrow sets out beyond the wall but becomes entangled in a battle with himself at stake.
