The short anime project "Tengu Tōsen" (Japanese: "Tengu Sword Battle"), a joint production by Bandai Namco Entertainment and the IP content-specialized company Plott, has officially launched. Since March 27th, the first short episodes have been released on the official YouTube channel, serving as side stories. The main series, which delves deeper into the plot, is scheduled to follow in July.

At the heart of the project is the concept of a "Japanese fantasy sword-fighting saga," telling the battle between evil Tengu and the so-called Tōbatsushi (Sword Executioners) who hunt these creatures. The protagonist Akari Hinomiya, a boy raised on an island, carries the spirit of the great Tengu Hajun, who once threatened the world, in his heart. The plot follows him as he meets allies, takes up the sword, and confronts his uncontrollable powers to face his destined enemies.

Parallel to the launch, a teaser video was released and the cast was announced. The main character Akari Hinomiya is voiced by Shūichirō Umeda, known from series such as "Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead." Other roles include Taihi Kimura as Akari's brother Haruto, Ryūichi Sawada as Ushio Kiryū, Azusa Tsugimori as Inori Kyōkane, and Shinji Kawada as the great Tengu Kurama. The character design is by the illustrator Sōno.
