"BanG Dream! Ave Mujica prima aurora": New Anime Film Starts on October 16, 2026

The new theatrical film from the multimedia project "BanG Dream!" has a fixed release date: "BanG Dream! Ave Mujica prima aurora" will hit Japanese theaters on October 16, 2026. Along with the theatrical release, a new trailer, key visual, and the official synopsis were released. The film continues the story of the band Ave Mujica, which was already the focus of the TV series "BanG Dream! Ave Mujica" aired from January to March 2025; a further continuation as a TV anime had already been announced.

According to the plot, more than half a year has passed since the band's re-debut, and the season is spring. Ave Mujica is becoming increasingly popular, and the individual members are also making progress with their own activities. Meanwhile, Sakiko Togawa, who brought the band together, is venturing into her next project: a masquerade for members only. Behind her step lies her promise to become a goddess. In addition to the key visual, a new illustration was unveiled showing the five musicians in spring attire – from left to right: Sakiko Togawa, Umiri Yahata, Uika Misumi, Nyamu Yutenji, and Mutsumi Wakaba.

Kodai Kakimoto, who already directed the TV series, is again in charge of direction. The screenplay is by Midori Goto and Akiko Waba, and the animation is handled by NICHICALINE, a brand belonging to Sanzigen. In the main roles, Kanon Takao (Sakiko Togawa), Rico Sasaki (Uika Misumi), Yuzuki Watase (Mutsumi Wakaba), Mei Okada (Umiri Yahata), and Akane Yonezawa (Nyamu Yutenji) can be heard again.

Advance tickets will be available from August 15 at nationwide theaters, via online services, and at Animate. Tickets with special merchandise will be offered at Comiket 108 on August 15 and 16, as well as from August 17 at the BanG Dream! STORE. Accompanying the film, the mini-album "Kami no Na o" (神の名を) will be released on October 21, which includes, among others, the insert songs of the film. Limited editions also include recordings of the concert "Ave Mujica LIVE TOUR 2026 ›Exitus‹ -FINAL-" from the SGC HALL ARIAKE.

The further program around the franchise also remains extensive: In "BanG Dream!", the project managed by Bushiroad, in which the voice actresses of the bands also perform live on stage as bands, in addition to the film, the continuation of the series "It's MyGO!!!!!" and "Ave Mujica" is scheduled for January 2027 on Nippon TV, as well as the mobile game "BanG Dream! Our Notes". Ave Mujica itself will also give its seventh live concert "Virtus" in October 2026 at the Keio Arena TOKYO.
