The staff of the series postponed the anime from July to October due to "various circumstances."

Wolfbane and Studio Flad are animating the series. Makoto Hoshino (King's Raid) is directing, while Megumi Shimizu (My Next Life as a Villainess) is in charge of series composition. Ruriko Watanabe (Mirai Nikki) is responsible for the main character designs. Yukari Hashimoto (Kakushigoto) is composing the music.

Yen Press describes the story as follows:

A heroic and powerful adventurer dreams of... opening an apothecary? Red was once a member of the Hero's party, a mighty group destined to save the world from the evil forces of Taraxon, the raging Demon Lord. That is, until one of his comrades kicked him out. Hoping to live a simple life on the frontier, Red aims to open an apothecary. But keeping his past life a secret isn’t as easy as he thinks. Especially when the beautiful Rit, an adventurer from his past, shows up and asks to move in with him!
