In December, the 50th and thus final issue of Banzai! will be released, as the Japanese cooperation partner Shueisha has decided to no longer pre-publish the mangas but instead release them immediately as paperback volumes. This means the included mangas in Banzai! (such as HunterxHunter, Hikaru no Go) will now be published "faster" as paperbacks.
The manga program manager, Kai Steffen Schwarz, has commented on this:
„We respect the decision of our Japanese partner, with whom we will continue to collaborate. The market has changed since the launch of BANZAI! in 2001: Back then, it was extremely important to test series on a young market, but today there are many other ways to quickly respond to fans' wishes and turn them into great books.“
