Hayase, a regular at Edenhall, celebrates his promotion to North America. He reflects on the sacrifices he has made, including losing his family. His wife died of a weak heart while he was away on a business trip. Later, he meets Rumi, whom he had stood up due to work obligations. They plan to meet again, even though his move to America is imminent.

Ryu takes Hayase to Kitakata's bar, where Kitakata suggests making personal decisions by rolling dice. Hayase bets on achieving a perfect dice stack, which would symbolize a miracle that would compel him to meet Rumi, even if it jeopardizes his promotion. Ultimately, he realizes his true feelings and decides to meet Rumi without further hesitation.

Ryu continues to struggle with his past, but Miwa encourages him to face it. He serves her a Tom-and-Jerry cocktail and explains that a bartender's role is to serve the perfect drink rather than dwell on life and death. Miwa's words help him gradually overcome his guilt.

The episode ends with Ryu reflecting on a mentor's advice that a bartender's duty is to provide refuge for guests. He acknowledges his inexperience but is grateful for the support he has received and sincerely thanks Miwa in his thoughts.
