The adaptation of Eko Mikawa's baseball manga "Bōkyaku Battery" into a TV anime was recently announced, and key details regarding the cast and visuals have now been revealed.

In this adaptation, Toshiki Masuda and Mamoru Miyano will star, lending their voices to the main characters Haruka Kiyomine and Kei Kaname. Kiyomine is portrayed as an exceptional pitcher, while Kaname, referred to as the "General," is a skilled catcher suffering from amnesia.

The manga's story revolves around Kiyomine and Kaname, who were practically unbeatable during their junior high years, often driving their opponents to abandon their baseball dreams. Eventually, they enroll at the undisputed Kotesashi High School in Tokyo, where they cross paths with former rivals who had quit the sport due to their past defeats.

Incidentally, this is not the first time "Bōkyaku Battery" has been animated. MAPPA previously produced an event anime adaptation of the manga for the "Jump Special Anime Festa 2020," in which Miyano also voiced Kaname.

The creative team behind the upcoming adaptation includes director Parako Shinohara, character designer and chief animation director Noriko Itou, and art director Hisako Akagi.

"Bōkyaku Battery" was first introduced in April 2018 on the Shonen Jump+ website, and the 15th volume has been released. The 16th volume is set to be published soon.
