Hakusensha
All members of the Young Animal editorial staff are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Kentaro Miura.
We are at a loss as to how to deal with this painful reality. To be honest, we simply cannot find the right words. Our memories of him are splendid and filled with his smile from the time we were together; he always spoke so cheerfully about his favorite comics, cartoons, and movies. Honestly, we had never seen him angry or upset. He was a happy person with the heart of a little boy.
We would like all his fans and those connected to him to imagine him smiling joyfully and silently praying with us for the repose of his soul. We appreciate your kind understanding.
Sincerely, Young Animal Editing Department
Miura published the one-shot version of the Berserk manga in Hakusensha's Monthly Comicomi magazine in 1988. He launched the full Berserk manga series in 1989 in Hakusensha's Monthly Animal House magazine, and the series has continued to this day in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine. It has a circulation of over 40 million copies.
