Beck – Japan's most successful music manga – has been available in Germany since the end of last year, with three volumes already released. Now, with the launch of the fourth volume, TOKYOPOP is taking it up a notch: To help readers feel the right groove, Beck 4 comes with an exclusive add-on – a CD featuring songs from the coolest independent bands Japan currently has to offer.

The CD compilation Vol. 1, curated by TOKYOPOP in cooperation with the Japanese publisher Kodansha and the record label UK Project, includes six selected tracks from various Japanese artists that reflect the lifestyle of Japan's young pop culture. The sampler is a lineup of sophisticated tracks – cool J-Rock mixed with Western beats. Alongside well-known acts like THE 5.6.7.8'S ("Woo Hoo" on the Kill Bill Vol. 1 soundtrack), 54NUDE Honeys, or POTSHOT, there are also interesting newcomers like SUMMER RHYME, WRECKingCRew, and Bacon.

Additional samplers featuring new East Asian rhythms will follow with Beck volumes six and eight.
