The future of Kentaro Miura's Berserk manga has been decided. The serialization of Berserk will continue. A new manga chapter will be published in the 13th issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine on June 24 in Japan. The Fantasia Arc/Elf Island Chapter story arc will be completed in six chapters, and the new Berserk arc will begin afterward.
Moving forward, the manga will carry the following credits: "Original work by Kentarou Miura, manga by Studio Gaga, supervised by Kouji Mori."
Studio Gaga is Miura's studio, consisting of his assistants and apprentices who also contributed to Berserk. Mori is a close childhood friend of Miura, whom Miura frequently consulted regarding details of Berserk's story. Mori stated in the announcement that he "knows the story of Berserk until the end." Mori drew a one-shot manga in Young Animal last year, depicting his lifelong friendship and creative relationship with Miura.
Berserk has established itself as one of the most popular and best-selling works in the medium, with over 50 million copies in circulation worldwide. This epic, dark fantasy manga, written and illustrated by Kentaro Miura, began its journey with a "pilot" version he presented in 1988. The official serialization started in 1989 in the now-defunct magazine Animal House and moved to Young Animal in 1992. After over 30 years of serialization and long hiatuses, the work has now grown to 41 volumes.
