The mystery novel series "Biblia Koshodō no Jiken Techō" (The Case Files of Biblia Antiquarian Bookshop) by author En Mikami is getting a TV anime adaptation. As officially announced by publisher Kadokawa, the adaptation is planned for 2027. The anime production will be handled by the renowned studio CloverWorks.

Along with the announcement, the main cast and staff were revealed. The shy bookstore owner Shioriko Shinokawa will be voiced by Riko Akechi in the anime, while Shunsuke Takeuchi will play the role of her companion Daisuke Gōra.

Mamoru Kanbe is directing, supported by assistant director Ayako Kurata. The series composition is by Toshiya Oono, while Jun Nakai is in charge of character design and overall animation direction. The music is composed by Takahiro Obata.

First impressions of the anime are provided by a teaser visual showing Shioriko reading in the bookstore, as well as a teaser PV with scenes from the series.

The novel series began in 2011 with illustrations by Hagu Koshijima and has sold over 8.5 million copies worldwide. It has already served as the basis for a TV series (2013) and a live-action film (2018). The plot revolves around the mysterious incidents that take place at the "Biblia" antiquarian bookshop in Kamakura, where the owner uses her extraordinary passion for books to decipher the mysteries of old writings.
