Bikkuri Men Anime: Teaser Promotional Video and More Characters Revealed

The official website for the Bikkuri-Men anime, based on the popular waffle snack series Bikkuri-Men by Lotte, has released a promotional video. The video introduces additional staff involved in the project and announces an anime premiere in the fall.



Japanese confectionery company Lotte is responsible for the original work, while Hiroyuki Takei, the creator of the manga Shaman King, is in charge of the original character designs. Takei also provided the teaser images for the characters Yamato, Ushiwaka, Jack, and Phoenix.

Tomohiro Tsukimisato is directing the anime at Shin-Ei Animation and Lesprit, while Yuniko Ayana is handling the series scripts. Ayano Ōwada is designing the characters, and Yasuhiro Misawa is composing the music.

The Bikkuri-Men anime is set in a world where the value of Bikkuri-Men stickers is so high that they must be transported in armored trucks. The story follows Yamato, a student who gets caught up in a battle over the stickers between two rival stores. With former classmates divided into allies and enemies, a battle that will decide his fate begins.

The anime announcement coincided with Bikkuri-Man Day in Japan on April 1. The Bikkuri-Man snacks, launched in 1977, were a major hit in Japan and inspired several anime adaptations, including five TV series and two films. Fans of the Bikkuri-Man franchise can look forward to a fresh take on the story with vibrant characters and an intriguing world.
