Black Clover Second Season: Creator Yuki Tabata Wished for Extra Cool Fights – Start in October 2026

Five and a half years after the end of the first series, the anime Black Clover returns with a second season in October 2026. The first episode of Black Clover Second Season had its world premiere at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles. Director Ayataka Tanemura and Asta's voice actor Gakuto Kajiwara personally presented the premiere and provided insights into the production. Tanemura revealed that manga creator Yuki Tabata had a special wish for the new episodes: the fights should be staged extra cool. To meet this demand, the team added sequences that do not appear in the original manga. One example is the storming of the Spade Kingdom's castle by the captains of the Magic Knights – a scene developed specifically for the anime. The first episode also showed Asta's training with Nacht Faust to perfect his devil union with Liebe, while the Magic Knights prepare for their counterattack. The appearance of Mereoleona Vermillion particularly sparked great enthusiasm in the hall. The new season is produced by Studio Pierrot, with Tanemura returning as director after already directing the film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. The opening theme is contributed by the rock band WANIMA. Crunchyroll will stream the series in simulcast – the first 170 episodes of the original series are already available there. Black Clover also celebrates its tenth anniversary this year; Yuki Tabata's manga was completed in May 2026. The Second Season picks up directly after the events of the first season and promises an action-packed spectacle with thrillingly staged fights.
