An anime adaptation of the Kuro no Shoukanshi (Black Summoner) light novels by Mayoi was announced by Bushiroad yesterday. The broadcast is planned for 2022. Mayoi began publishing the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in October 2014, where it is still ongoing. Overlap began publishing the series with illustrations by Kurogin in June 2016. Gin Ammo launched the manga adaptation of the novels in January 2018 on Overlap's Comic Gardo website.

The anime's cast includes:

Kouki Uchiyama as Kelvin

Manaka Iwami as Efil

Reina Ueda as Melfina

Studio Satelight is handling production. Yoshimasa Hiraike will serve as director and oversee the scripts, while Miwa Ooshima is responsible for character design.

"Black Summoner" is a fantasy story in which the battle-loving protagonist Kelvin gathers friends around him and rises to become the top adventurer. One day, Kelvin wakes up to find himself reborn in another world, with the goddess of that world serving as his guide under his command. In exchange for his memories of his former life, Kelvin receives excessively high-level summoning and magic abilities and begins his life as an adventurer. However, his zeal for hunting down powerful enemies and his status, which far surpasses that of a novice, soon attract attention.
