During a panel at this year's "AnimeJapan 2026," two additional voice actors for the TV anime adaptation of "Black Torch" were announced. As revealed at the event on Saturday at Tokyo Big Sight, the renowned voice actors Toshiyuki Morikawa and Nobuhiko Okamoto will join the cast.

Morikawa will voice the character Amagi, a Mononoke with superhuman powers. The character is described as a hardcore rationalist who follows the principle of "the strong devouring the weak." By his side is the young Mononoke Koga, portrayed by Nobuhiko Okamoto. Koga is obsessed with obtaining Rago to become the strongest Mononoke himself.

The series itself will premiere on July 4, 2026, on Japanese television on TOKYO MX and other channels. The story begins with the encounter between high school student Jiro Azuma, a descendant of ninjas, and the legendary Mononoke Rago.

Voice Actor Comments
Toshiyuki Morikawa (Amagi) expressed enthusiasm about the role: "I will portray Amagi with all my might, capturing the intense passion and determination of the character. I look forward to experiencing the world of 'Black Torch' together with the audience."

Nobuhiko Okamoto (Koga) added: "I play Koga, who claims he will become the strongest Mononoke. At his core, he is a character with a childlike disposition. I will equip him with all his spirited arrogance and look forward to him stirring things up for Jiro."
