At the panel for BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War at Anime Expo 2022, VIZ Media presented the first trailer for the new season of the Bleach anime. The two-minute teaser showcases the cast of the final story arc in action and confirms the premiere date for October 2022.
The Thousand Year Blood War Arc is the final arc of the manga and spans volumes 55-74.
Tomohisa Taguchi replaces Noriyuki Abe as the director of the series, which is animated by Studio Pierrot. Masashi Kudo returns as character designer, and Shiro Sagisu once again composes the music. The voice actors also reprise their roles from the original anime, while characters who have not yet appeared are voiced by the actors who portrayed them in the game Bleach: Brave Souls.
The Bleach manga was published by Shueisha from 2001 to 2016 and consists of 74 volumes. The anime series aired between 2004-2012.
