Several months have passed since the announcement of the anime Blue Period, and there’s finally an update about the anime. Today, the official website revealed new visuals, additional cast members, and staff details.

Kouji Masunari (Kamichu!, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic) is serving as chief director, alongside director Katsuya Asano (Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS), series composition/scenario writer Reiko Yoshida (Girls und Panzer), and character designer Tomoyuki Shitaya (Shokugeki no Soma). Seven Arcs (TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You) is handling the animation production.

The manga has been serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon since June 2017, and Kodansha describes the story as follows:

Yatora is the perfect high school student, with good grades and plenty of friends. It’s an effortless achievement, and ultimately... a boring one. But when he steps into the art room one day, a lone painting catches his eye, awakening him to a beauty he’s never known. Compelled, he dives headfirst into the world of art—and soon learns how wild and merciless it can be!
