As announced via the franchise's official Twitter account, The Dangers in My Heart will be getting an anime TV adaptation in 2023.

Sakurai started the continuation of comedy slice-of-life manga in Weekly Shounen Champion in March 2018 before moving to Champion Cross and then Manga Cross in the same year.

Seven Seas Entertainment describes the story as follows:

Ichikawa Kyotaro, a boy barely clinging to the bottom rung of his school's social ladder, secretly believes he's playing the tormented lead in a psychological thriller. He spends his days imagining ways to disrupt the peaceful lives of his classmates and longs for Anna Yamada, the class idol. But Kyotaro is nowhere near the deranged teenager he pretends to be... and it turns out Anna is a little weird herself!

Sakurai published the manga in Akita Shoten's Weekly Sh┼Źnen Champion magazine in March 2018. The manga moved to Akita Shoten's Champion Cross manga website in April 2018. As Champion Cross in July 2018 with Akita Shoten's other manga website Champion Tap! merged into the new website Manga Cross, the manga moved to this new website. Akita Shoten released the sixth volume of the manga on January 7th and will release the seventh volume on August 8th. Seven Seas Entertainment released the fourth volume of the manga on April 26th and will release the fifth volume on October 4th.
