In the June issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine, it was announced that the Boruto manga, drawn by Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto, will go on hiatus starting with the next issue of the magazine. The manga is scheduled to return in the October issue.
Upon its return, the Boruto manga will begin a new story arc. The sequel manga was initially launched by Ukyō Kodachi and Ikemoto in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in May 2016 and ran monthly. The manga moved to V Jump in July 2019, and Kishimoto replaced Kodachi as the manga's storywriter in November 2020, starting with Chapter 52.
The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo in April 2017. "Part I" of the anime concluded with the 293rd episode on March 26, and "Part II" is on the horizon.
