At the beginning of the episode, Fate encounters Set, a resident of the village to which he was once banished. Set asks Fate for help in solving a monster problem plaguing the village. Despite his hesitation, Fate agrees, as he remembers his deceased father, who once lived there.

Meanwhile, Roxy Hart prepares for her expedition to Galia. She is accompanied by Miria and Mugan, two warriors who volunteered for the mission. Miria looks forward to the adventure, while Mugan seeks to avenge the death of Roxy's father, Mason Hart, under whom he once served.

Back in the village, Fate learns that the monsters are likely gargoyles—intelligent creatures terrorizing the community. Fate's talking sword, Greed, warns him that these monsters are cunning and will attack in swarms at the right moment.

Fate's presence in the village is met with hostility, especially from the village chief, who intends to use him as a sacrifice to buy time. Set's daughter gives Fate sweets, which turn out to be drugged. Fate collapses, and it becomes clear that the village chief plans to use him as bait for the monsters.

In another part of the story, Hado Vlerick, the holy knight, confronts Fate. A battle ensues, in which Fate gains the upper hand and defeats Hado. During the fight, Fate's ability, Greed, activates, allowing him to absorb some of Hado's stats and skills, including the holy sword technique. Greed transforms into a large scythe, revealing its second stage, capable of cutting through almost anything.

Fate questions Hado about Roxy's expedition to Galia and learns that it is a dangerous mission likely orchestrated by the Vlerick family. Hado promises to call off the expedition in exchange for his life, but Fate makes it clear that he is acting out of revenge, not to save Roxy.

The episode ends with Fate setting off for Galia, determined to protect Roxy with his newfound power. He rejects a letter of recommendation from Roxy and decides to walk his own path as a warrior. As he departs, he vows to see Roxy again and keep her safe.
