Anime Virtual has secured the rights to the fantasy movie Brave Story from Gonzo. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Miyuki Miyabe and tells the story of 10-year-old student Wataru Mitsuyam, who is pulled through a strange white door into the mysterious land of Vision. There, he embarks on numerous adventures and desperately searches for the Goddess of Destiny, who is said to help him save his terminally ill mother.
The film will be available on DVD from autumn, but will first hit German theaters in May.
Initially, the film will celebrate its German debut on May 3, 2008, as part of the Stuttgart Animation Festival, followed by a nationwide release starting May 15.
