Netflix Japan announced additional cast members and released a second promotional video for the anime film Bright: Samurai Soul yesterday. The film will premiere worldwide on Netflix on October 12.

The newly announced cast includes:

- Maaya Sakamoto as Chihaya

- Kenjiro Tsuda as Tōmoku

- Chafurin as Tsukuyomi

- Mamoru Miyano as Rōshu

- Kenichi Suzumura as Ōkubo

Netflix describes the film as follows:

In the period between the fall of the shogunate and the dawn of the Meiji era, a powerful bright light emitted from a magic wand ends the long reign of the shogunate to prevent further bloodshed as Japan begins to transition into a new age. Amid this upheaval, a one-eyed wandering ronin named Izou, who has lost his purpose in life, and Raiden, an orc who despises killing and hopes to leave his thieving past behind, separately encounter a young elf girl named Sonya at the same time. Together, they embark on a journey along the Tokaido Road to safely escort her and the magic wand she possesses to the land of the elves in the north. Standing in their way is the mysterious organization Inferni, which seeks to seize the wand and resurrect the Dark Lord, who aims to dominate all of creation. Inferni also manipulates the new Meiji government in its attempt to steal the wand from Izou, Raiden, and Sonya. Along the Tokaido Road from Kyoto to Yokohama, Izou and Raiden begin their journey to protect the wand.
