The episode begins at Kanie Technologies, where Tetsuro Okino, a young developer, is excited about his new job at Namidome Industries. He is the inventor of a new robot model called the Bullbuster. On his first day, he meets Miyuki Shirogane from the general affairs department and Ginnosuke Muto, another developer at Namidome Industries. The company specializes in pest control using robots.

President Nobuyo Kanie of Kanie Technologies personally hands over the Bullbuster to Namidome Industries. Okino wants to make a good impression and even proposes a branding project for the company. However, an emergency alarm interrupts the discussion. A giant creature is approaching a residential area, and the Bullbuster is the only robot ready for deployment.

Before Okino can get started, he is stopped by Kintaro Kataoka from accounting, who insists that he first complete his employment paperwork. After a tense and bureaucratic delay, Okino is finally cleared to work.

Okino is led to the creature's location by Muto and another pilot, Arumi Nikaido. Muto gets separated and calls for help, prompting Okino to rush to his aid. Okino encounters the creature and initially struggles to fight it effectively. Arumi intervenes but ends up in danger herself. Okino eventually gains the upper hand by utilizing the Bullbuster's advanced features and successfully neutralizes the creature.

The episode ends with Muto and Arumi warning Okino that their work is no game and that the creatures they fight are known as "giant beasts." Okino becomes aware of the gravity of his new role, and his first day at Namidome Industries ends on a sobering note.
