Episode 2 begins at Namidome Industries, where Tetsuro Okino is reprimanded by Kintaro Kataoka for using too much ammunition on his last assignment. The company is in financial trouble, and Kataoka emphasizes the need to stick to the budget.

Afterward, the team visits Shiota Bio to deliver another defeated giant beast for research purposes. From Mitsuru Inomata, the head of the department, Okino learns that a live specimen could provide more information. However, Inomata doubts that Namidome Industries is capable of capturing one.

Back at the office, Okino finds a report about a tragic incident on Ryugan Island, where nine people were killed by giant beasts. He discovers that among the victims were a former Namidome employee and his family. The incident was initially dismissed as a bear attack, and Okino realizes the gravity of the situation.

Amid these revelations, the company faces another challenge: it might lose access to the boat used to transport the Bullbuster to Ryugan Island. Kataoka reveals that local businesses are pressuring Takotsubo Fisheries not to lend the boat, as they suspect Namidome Industries of trying to monopolize the island's reconstruction.

Okino tries to smooth things over by participating in a rebranding project for the company. He collaborates with his former classmate Horiuchi, who runs a design firm. However, the costs of the rebranding project become another point of contention within the company, especially with Kataoka, who is concerned about the expenses.

In an effort to make a positive contribution, Okino decides to take photos of the Bullbuster for the company's new website. He invites Arumi Nikaido to join him, but she scolds him for treating their dangerous work like a game. Okino confronts her, explaining that he is committed to the Bullbuster and his role in the company. Despite his passionate speech, Arumi remains unimpressed, leaving Okino frustrated and questioning his place at Namidome Industries.

The episode ends with the unveiling of the new company sign as part of the rebranding efforts. However, the celebrations are short-lived as Okino receives a stern message from Kataoka, informing him that he has made a major mistake and that his future at the company is uncertain.
