This episode features an intense duel between Fukuzawa and Ranpo against their old acquaintance Fukuchi. The latter has taken Kunikida and Tanizaki hostage, and a plan to trap him in a fictional realm fails. In response, Fukuchi throws down the gauntlet: Fukuzawa has only a few minutes to uncover his true intentions, with lives hanging in the balance.

Elsewhere, Teruko releases Atsushi—but not without a catch. She offers to reveal Fukuchi's true plans but warns that the truth might be too much for Atsushi to bear.

The episode also delves into the past, shedding light on the history between Fukuzawa and Fukuchi. Once allies, their paths diverged due to the horrors and complexities of war. Fukuchi, changed by his experiences, violently opposes Fukuzawa because he fails to understand his deeper motives.

In another subplot, Fukuchi manipulates a UN minister into unlocking a mysterious weapon, the One Order. The minister reluctantly agrees, clinging to a faint hope that Fukuchi's actions are part of a larger plan for the greater good.

Back in his confined space, Atsushi wrestles with the moral weight of the information he's received and ultimately decides he must share it with Fukuzawa.

Dazai and Sigma are trapped in an elevator by Fyodor and Chuuya, further complicating matters. Amid a seemingly trivial game, they discuss Sigma's reasons for joining the mission. Their situation grows dire as the elevator begins filling with a dangerous liquid.
