Cardfight!! Vanguard celebrates anniversary with upgraded anime version

On the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of the anime series Cardfight!! Vanguard, extensive celebrations have been announced. The central project is a revised and qualitatively improved version of the original television series. This new edition is to be available soon on television and via streaming services.

The official announcements took place as part of a special presentation titled "Cardfight!! Vanguard 15th Anniversary Bushiroad New Year's Big Reveal 2026," which took place on January 12. The event was broadcast live from the Kanadevia Hall.

To introduce the celebrations, the company released two special works. An anniversary film produced by the esteemed studio MAPPA was presented. Hiroko Komatsu was responsible for the artistic direction of storyboard and direction. The film's theme song is the track "XV," performed by the group Roselia.

In parallel, a specially created motif image for the fifteenth anniversary was unveiled. It shows several main characters from different phases of the series in newly drawn form. Depicted are Aichi, Chrono, Shinemon, Yuyu, Akina, Kai, and Ren.

The event also served to present future projects surrounding the card game. A collaboration with the franchise Inazuma Eleven was announced. As part of this cooperation, characters from the entire history of Inazuma Eleven, including the latest iteration "Victory Road," will appear as playing cards.

Furthermore, new card game products for the current year were presented. These include a starter deck for returnees for February as well as several collector boosters in the following months. One of these expansions, "Phantom True Star War," will contain specially illustrated cards designed by CLAMP, the original character designers of the current anime series.

The current TV anime series Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez: Genma Seisenhen, which premiered on January 10, was also part of the event. An exclusive advance screening of the second episode took place.
