Chained Soldier anime is set to premiere in January 2024
The TV anime adaptation of the manga Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave) by Takahiro and Yōhei Takemura has been postponed to January 2024, as announced during a stage event at AnimeJapan 2023. The event also revealed a new image for the series, which was originally set to release this year.
The anime features a high-profile cast, including Yūya Hirose as Yūki Wakura, Akari Kitō as Kyōka Uzen, Yume Miyamoto as Himari Azuma, Mari Hino as Shushu Suruga, and Hina Tachibana as Nei Ōkawamura.
The story takes place in a world where a demonic gate has unleashed monsters called Shuki. It follows Yūki Wakura, a boy who encounters Uzen Kyōka, a girl empowered by a special peach tree that grants abilities only to women. She is the leader of the 7th Anti-Demon Unit.
Junji Nishimura serves as the animation director, while Gorō Kuji directs at Seven Arcs. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is in charge of the series composition, and Hiroyuki Yoshii designs the characters. The opening theme is performed by Akari Kitō, while Maaya Uchida sings the ending theme.
Takahiro and Takemura launched the manga in January 2019 on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ manga website.
